7 Bari, Polignano and Alberobello

Our final day in Bari began with a short walk around town, followed by Ron's speech at the University of Bari on the Chinese. From there we began our car adventure, heading south to Polignano for a critical stop for Gelato, followed by a walk through the old city. Next we headed for a brief visit to Alberobello, a world heritage UNESCO site, and home of the truilli - conical shapped, teepee-like buildings. As daylight slipped away, we made our way to our final stop on for the day - Ostuni.

The Palazzo Mincuzzi building is an historical monument of unique archiecture and design, in the heart of Bari
The Teatro Petruzzelli is the largest theatre of the city of Bari and the fourth Italian theatre by size. Built in 1903, it was destroyed by fire in 1991. A range of legal actions then followed, with the building changing hands between private ownership and ultimately being rebuilt and returned to City of Bari ownership in 2009.

We went to Polignano specifically for the gelato at Bar Tourismo. Supposed ot be amongst the best in Italy. I'd have to say - yup.
