Azores 15 - Day 2
Read MoreSão Miguel I, Azores, Portugal
67a/365 The Azores are an archipelago in the middle of the Atlantic that are owned by Portugal. The largest, most volcanic of the islands is São Miguel. As described by one website… those who go to Sāo Miguel “…appreciate nature at its most jurassic, technicolor and surreal (and are people who own hiking boots and rain pants). The blues and greens of the lagoons and mountainsides are almost electrically charged—so vivid they practically make your eyes hurt.”
São Miguel II, Azores, Portugal
67b/365 Not a better description for São Miguel. The island is indeed rich and bright in color - whether the houses and towns or simply the landscape at large. And there are miles and miles of mountainous hikes providing beautiful vistas, rich forests and an enormous collection of wild hydrangeas.

67c/365 Farms are scattered throughout the hills and in the valleys below - both often fog-shrouded or dead clear. It just depends on the moment - literally. And yes, those are indeed cows grazing in the hills in the cleared land in the center of this image - and farms capping the tops of the hills overlooking the valleys below.
